Getting Started

Ready to get started on the path to energy savings, cost savings, and greenhouse gas reductions? Follow these easy steps.

Register on this website

You need to register and have a username and password to access the SEEC resources and trainings. All of these no-cost resources can help your local government get started on building a more sustainable, climate change resilient and energy efficient community. Note: These resources are only for California local government staff.

Access SEEC resources at each step

The California Statewide Energy Efficiency Collaborative offers software tools, on-demand trainings, case studies, templates, and guidance documents at no-cost to California local governments in the Resource Portal.

Register separately for access to SEEC software

The California SEEC ClearPath, developed by ICLEI USA, contains two software modules: a Community Inventory Assistant to help you complete your community-scale GHG emissions inventory, and a Climate Action Planning Assistant, to help you choose the most cost-effective measures for your climate action plan.

Attend SEEC events and trainings

Periodic events, webinars, and trainings are offered for California local governments. The Local Government Commission (LGC) events bring together California local government staff for networking, best practice sharing, and technical support. ICLEI's in-person and webinar trainings offer cutting-edge technical guidance. Sign-up for the e-newsletter and check the events section regularly for upcoming opportunities.

Receive recognition for your leadership

Showcase your climate & energy accomplishments by participating in the Beacon Award: Local Leadership Toward Solving Climate Change, which recognizes the efforts of California cities and counties.
