Best Practices: Adopted Reach Codes

State law establishes a process that allows local adoption of building energy standards that are more stringent than statewide standards, sometimes called reach codes. Local governments can adopt and enforce building energy standards before the statewide standards effective date, require additional energy conservation measures, and/or set more stringent energy budgets.
